Olja och oljeindex
I nya objektlistan X-COMM finns ett flertal oljenoteringar. Här är en liten översikt på engelska över vad de olika noteringarna innebär.
Brent Crude Futures Front (motsvarar gamla Oil Uk Brent): Brent blend is a benchmark crude oil from the UK North Sea against which other crude oils are priced. It is widely used as an indicator of the price of oil beyond energy markets. It is traded on forward markets and is the basis of futures and options contracts listed on the International Petroleum Exchange in London. Brent Dated: Brent crude oil for prompt loading. Dated Brent is a cargo of crude that has been awarded its loading date. This occurs 15 days ahead of loading, or the nearest to 15 days allowing for non-trading days.
Platts Brent: The Platts Brent Index (PBI) is an independently calculated index, which is used for settlement purposes by the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). The index is calculated on the basis of parameters which meet NYMEX requirements.
WTI Cushing: West Texas Intermediate is a benchmark crude oil against which other crudes are priced. A light (40 degrees API) sweet blend of crude oils produced in fields in Western Texas, it is the benchmark for US crude oil.
This oil type is often referenced in North American news reports about oil prices, alongside North Sea Brent Crude. Other important oil markers include the Dubai Crude and the OPEC Reference Basket.
Historical price data for WTI can be found at a website maintained by Energy Information Administration, Department of Energy of the US government. It is listed as WTI, Cushing, Oklahoma.
WTI is a light crude, lighter than Brent Crude. It contains about 0.24% sulfur, rating it a sweet crude, again sweeter than Brent. Its properties and production site make it ideal for being refined in the United States, mostly in the Midwest and Gulf Coast regions
